01.22.12 ten years ago today, waterpistol first released its album "between here and there is everything." to celebrate that release, could be better records has just re-issued the album on cd with new updated artwork. you can purchase it here on the band's website or Amazon. 01.30.11 six years ago this month, waterpistol broke up... we felt it was time to give a little update... ray and mike are now in a band called .cat(a)lion. (formerly four squares). pete has been on tour with his band a great big pile of leaves. you can check out both bands, by going to the links page! harris occasionally does reunion shows with his former band hepburn, but is mostly just loving life as a dad. tom is rocking and rolling as a respiratory therapist. chris recently earned his doctor of education from boston university and is teaching high school. we all still live in the boston area. 06.15.08 it has been over three years since the break up of waterpistol, so it is about time for a news update... waterpistol's former members have been in numerous bands including video games, hepburn, and farewell to arms, ray and mike are currently in a band called "four squares," while pete is in a band called "a great big pile of leaves," and harris is doing some solo stuff under the name "name brand safe" (check out the links page for their websites). meanwhile chris is teaching high school and working on his doctorate at boston university and tom is working at a hospital and finishing up a nursing degree. as for rumors that waterpistol will reunite... who knows? stay tuned. decided to put waterpistol to rest. it has come to the point in our lives that waterpistol can be no more. our final decision was a difficult one and it made us realize that we all have different goals for the future. it was not a decision purely based on the directions of our lives. we have grown apart in the vision that we see for waterpistol's music and it would be only fair to put the band to rest, hopefully on a high note. in the works for early 2005 are 2 or 3 farewell shows in our home state of massachusetts (hopefully split between the boston area and the springfield/ northampton area). we will be playing songs that date all the way back from the first seven inch, through our two albums, to the new material we wrote with pete weiland. the farewell show will have a reunion with our original singer ray moorhouse, who will help us play some of the old stuff (including the often requested downtown crossing, this is what i get, and missouri soupbowl). we hope to see everyone we have met over the years there... also in the works is a new farewell website, with pictures, information, and memories from the years of waterpistol. finally we want to say thank you to everyone who has cared about us... this includes most of all our families and friends, other bands we have played with and became friends with and let us borrow equipment when ours broke - which seem to happen at every show, people who have helped us tour and let us sleep on their floors. thanks to chris' family for letting us practice in his basement from 1998 to 2002. thank you to becky who traveled every where with us to sell our merch and keep us company on road trips. thank you to umass for existing so we could all meet each other. and thank you for anyone who ever came to see us play live, bought bugs have been worked out, but they will be fixed soon. hope you enjoy the site... 07.16.04 well some bad news here... pete has broken his leg during a skateboarding competition. he is okay, but it will sadly delay our ability to begin touring or playing shows for a few weeks. we still are booking shows, but it looks like it will not be until late august until we play our first show back. hang in there... in better news. we are looking at places to record possibly a full length and we are looking for labels willing to put it out. we hope to go into the studio in the fall possibly somewhere download and streaming audio. radiotakeover.com 04.14.04 i would like to take this opportunity to talk about our friend ray moorhouse. many of you have been asking about him, and others have been curious as to why he is no longer in waterpistol... the other day i had a long conversation with him, and i want everyone to know he is doing well. ray has a dependency problem, and he has begun to get his life back together. ray will be entering rehab in the coming week. this will be a long process, but we are very hopeful that he can get his life back together. i have known ray since elementary school, and i have always considered him one of my best friends. the band, likewise, feels the same. we are keeping ray in our thoughts and prayers as he begins this difficult process. there has been some mystery surounding ray's exit from waterpistol, and i would like everyone to know that ray departed the band on good terms with us, and that he is still one of our closests friends. ray has a struggle ahead of him, but he is looking forward to the future. there is talk of doing a solo project, and hopes once things are together, he will stay permanently out here in boston. 04.07.04 update... we are still working on the new album. we have seven songs written for our next album. we hope to go into the studio soon and record a demo of the work we have done so far..
